UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash identified

HARTLAND — The motorcyclist who died in a late-night crash on Tuesday has been identified.

Brian Hill, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle collided head-on with an oncoming car on Ridge Road in Hartland about 9:20 p.m.

Sheriff’s deputies said Hill was traveling at a high rate of speed and crossed the center line. He was ejected from his motorcycle, the report said.

The driver of the car was treated and released at Eastern Niagara Hospital-Newfane.





A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night on Ridge Road in the Town of Hartland when the motorcycle hit an oncoming car head-on, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office confirmed early Wednesday.

The sheriff's office responded to a 911 call about 8:20 p.m. of an accident at 7575 Ridge Road, according to reports.

Deputies reported that the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Ridge Road at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center line into the eastbound lane and hit the car.

The motorcycle driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

The driver of the car was transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Newfane, for non-life-threatening injuries and released, according to the sheriff's report.

The names of the drivers are being withheld until notification of family members can be made.

The sheriff's department's Accident Investigation and Criminal Investigation units are investigating the accident.

In addition to Sheriff James Voutour, deputies and investigators, the Gasport and Wrights Corners fire companies and Tri Town Ambulance responded to the scene.
