LOCKPORT —
The No. 2-seeded Lockport Lions will take on the No. 7 Williamsville North Lady Spartans at 4:45 p.m. Friday in a Section VI Class AA quarterfinal softball game.
Will North advanced to play LHS by beating No. 10 Jamestown, 6-5, in an eight-inning affair on Tuesday.
Head coach Julie Kwoka’s Lady Lions enter the game as 2012 co-champions of the Niagara Frontier League and are 16-2 overall.
In other Class AA pre-quarterfinal contests Tuesday, No. 5 Niagara-Wheatfiield blanked No. 12 North Tonawanda 18-0, No. 8 Kenmore West beat No. 9 Frontier, 9-4; and No. 6 Orchard Park downed No. 11 West Seneca West, 11-4.
• CLASS B-2 PRE-QUARTERFINAL
Akron 5, Roy-Hart 2
MIDDLEPORT — No. 6 Akron upended No. 3 Roy-Hart Tuesday in a Class B-2 quarterfinal.
Sam Brown had three hits, including a double and Hannah Rausch two hits for Roy-Hart, which had split with Akron during the Niagara-Orleans League season.
• CLASS C PRE-QUARTERFINAL
6-Barker 12, 11-Silver Creek 4
BARKER — Destiny Metzler picked up the quarterfinal win in the circle for head coach Shannon McCracken’s Lady Raiders, hurling a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts.
Metzler, Olivia Denny and Mackenzie Strickland each had a total of three hits as Step Pyra, Sydney Webb and Ali Denny each added two.
The Lady Raiders will now play at No. 3 Portville at 4:45 p.m. Friday in a Class C quarterfinal.
• CLASS A-1 QUARTERFINALS
4-Grand Island 5, 5-Will. South 2
GRAND ISLAND — Annie Corrao was 2-for-3 and Leah Geis had an RBI for the fourth-seeded Lady Vikings in Tuesday’s Class A-1 quarterfinal.
Rosalie Russell threw five innings of two-hit ball and Alley Cutting took over for the final two innings to seal the win.
The Lady Vikings advance to the semifinals where they draw top-seeded Hamburg for a 4:45 p.m. Friday road matchup.
• CLASS A-2 QUARTERFINALS
5-Lew-Port 14, 4-East Aurora 7
EAST AURORA — Ryleigh Fitzgerald was 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and a pair of stolen bases and Theresa Fleckenstein had four hits and a pair of RBIs for the fifth-seeded Lancers, who advance to the Class A-2 semifinal game against No. 1 Cheektowaga.
Winning pitcher Lizzie Raby and Gabby Lucchetti combined to hold East Aurora to six hits in the game while Taylor Schultz went 2-for-3 with a double.
• CLASS B-1 QUARTERFINAL
1-Depew 4, 8-Tonawanda 0
DEPEW — Alanna Herne had two of the Lady Warriors’ four, but the team failed to push a run across in the Class B-1 quarterfinal loss.
Tina Partridge and Tina Stewart recorded the team’s other two hits and freshman Rachel Allen held the Lady Wildcats to seven hits for the top-seeded Lady Warriors, whose post-season run ended quickly.
