NORTH TONAWANDA —
A Philadelphia TV reporter called Niagara Falls a great option for parents in need of a good getaway destination for their families.
David Murphy with WPVI brought his family to Niagara County recently. He recommended to travelers coming from the east to utilize Route 18 to get to Niagara Falls: “The final miles into the falls area are especially exciting using this approach, because the road south from the Great Lake (Lake Ontario) parallels the gorge cut by the falls before they receded back to their current position.”
While encouraging viewers to visit the U.S. side of the cataract first (and to do the Cave of the Winds tour), Murphy had plenty more praise for the Canadian side due to the better views from there (he was much less kind about the touristy region around Clifton Hill).
As for getting home, he told viewers to drive to the Peace Bridge in order to catch a glimpse of Buffalo: “Buffalo is a shell of its former industrial self, but they’ve done a nice job of sprucing up the downtown, and even the steel relics of the city’s past are picturesque in their own way.”

A recent report from Men’s Health magazine found the Buffalo-Niagara region to be among the nation’s chilliest copulation centers.
The list of the nation’s 100 most sexually active metro areas had Buffalo at No. 93. The list was compiled based on a number of categories, including birth rates (Buffalo came in at No. 98) and STD rates (Buffalo was No. 51).
Topping the list was Austin, Texas. Bringing up the rear was Portland, Maine. Rochester came in at No. 73.
