Two arrested for John Street assault

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Two city men were face charges after related incidents on John Street on Monday.

Matthew J. Lequeux, 20 19 John St., was charged with second-degree menacing. Kevin C. Kureczka, 19, 461 Park Ave. was charged with third-degree assault and criminal mischief.

On Monday, the police found the victim on John Street with several lacerations to his fingers, forearms and hands. He was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport.

According to the report, Kureczka, Lequeux and a woman were banging on the front door and yelling for the victim to come outside. The victim went into the back bedroom and Kureczka kept yelling at him.

Kureczka allegedly picked up a brick and threw it through the window. The glass shattered and struck the victim, causing the cuts.

Lequeux allegedly walked into the house, held a bullet and threatened the victim.

Lequeux pulled out small black 22 calibre revolver and said "I'll put this bullet in this gun and shoot you."

A witness ran out of the room and screamed to call 911. After hearing this, Lequeux fled.

The victim signed criminal affidavit and asked for an order of protection. Lequeux was arrested without incident on John Street.

Lequeux was arrested on Tuesday and Kureczka was arrested at police headquarters Wednesday morning.
