City of Lockport
• PETIT LARCENY: Kimberly J. Wiepert, 26, 157 Cottage St., Apt. 4 was charged Friday with petit larceny after a woman told police Wiepert had taken cash from her purse.
• MENACING: Cedric L. Elias, 27, 6379 Robinson Road was charged with second-degree menacing, fourth-degree grand larceny and possession of stolen property. On Thursday, patrol reportedly spoke with a victim who said the suspect came to his residence to repay a debt. According to the report, when the victim refused to take the money, Elias pulled out a knife and threatened to kill the victim. The victim allegedly stepped away from the suspect and Elias put his knife away, but grabbed a stick and threatened the victim again, according to the report. On Friday, after the arrest from the day before, Elias allegedly entered a Prospect Street man’s home and stole his wallet, which contained several kinds of identification cards, according to the police report. The victim told police that $300 was withdrawn using his debit card.

Witness’ credibility questioned in Greco murder case
The defense attorney in the case against Anthony J. Allen — accused of murdering a group counselor on East Avenue last year — has until Aug. 23 to prove the prosecution’s expert witness is not a credible source.

Five indicted in casino fraud case
A federal grand jury has indicted five people on bank fraud-related charges involving thefts from casino-based ATMs, including some at Seneca Nation operations in Niagara Falls and elsewhere.
Charged in the four-count indictment are Jia Ming Huang, Rungen Huang, Zhen Qiang Liang, Chang Keng Zheng aka Yu Zheng and Siu S. Cheng. All the defendants live in either New York or Florida. - Police blotter published July 27, 2010

2 burglaries reported at Royalton Airport
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a report of an alleged burglary and attempted burglary at the Royalton Airport on Mackey Road on Sunday and Monday.
