BLOTTER: Police reports published Dec. 4
City of Lockport
• ASSAULT: Francis J. Gouchie, 33, 118 Johns St., lower apartment, was charged Thursday with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. A Gasport woman contacted the Lockport Police Department to report that she left her child with the baby sitter Nov. 30. A police report said when the complainant’s child was returned, she noticed redness and bruising on the child’s buttocks. Gouchie was arrested and is due back Monday in Lockport City Court.
Pendleton
• DWI: Michael F. Buttitta, 37, 5812 Fisk Road was charged Thursday with first-degree driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana. Officers pulled over a vehicle they saw going in and out of a parking lot. Police said they detected the odor of alcohol and marijuana on the driver’s breath. Buttitta reportedly admitted to deputies that he had a six-pack of beer at his barn before he went for a drive. He reportedly failed all sobriety tests and was found to have suspected marijuana in his possession. Buttitta was taken to the Niagara County Jail and is due Dec. 9 in Pendleton Town Court.

Witness’ credibility questioned in Greco murder case
The defense attorney in the case against Anthony J. Allen — accused of murdering a group counselor on East Avenue last year — has until Aug. 23 to prove the prosecution’s expert witness is not a credible source.

Five indicted in casino fraud case
A federal grand jury has indicted five people on bank fraud-related charges involving thefts from casino-based ATMs, including some at Seneca Nation operations in Niagara Falls and elsewhere.
Charged in the four-count indictment are Jia Ming Huang, Rungen Huang, Zhen Qiang Liang, Chang Keng Zheng aka Yu Zheng and Siu S. Cheng. All the defendants live in either New York or Florida. - Police blotter published July 27, 2010

2 burglaries reported at Royalton Airport
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a report of an alleged burglary and attempted burglary at the Royalton Airport on Mackey Road on Sunday and Monday.
