Two Town of Lockport teens were charged Monday with making counterfeit cash on a home scanner and a third was charged with making a false written statement.
Matthew M. Hodge, 16, of Day Road, and Edward A. Koban, II, 16, of Reger Drive were charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a class C felony, said State Police spokeswoman Rebecca Gibbons.
Adam R. Flick, 18, of Akron Street was charged with making a false written statement, a misdemeanor, for denying his involvement during the investigation, Gibbons said.
Flick was issued an appearance ticket.
Police said they received a report of someone trying to pass a counterfeit bill Nov. 19 at Smokin Joes in Wheatfield.
State Police said Hodge and Koban manufactured approximately $150 in counterfeit U.S. currency.
They were arraigned in Lockport Town Court and are due back Dec. 3.
