• MARIJUANA: Lamont M. Candy, Jr., 22, of Buffalo was charge with unlawful possession of marijuana Thursday. Police assisting in executing a warrant at a Washington Street address reportedly saw an ashtray with several marijuana blunt cigarettes. Candy was with the subject of the warrant and reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana prior to police arrival.
• FRAUD: Daniel R. Appis, 35, 152 Cottage St., Apt. 2, was accused of fraudulent accosting, a misdemeanor. Police responded to a report from a Vine Street woman about a man begging for money. The woman told police that she and her husband had given the suspect money previously, and he accosted them again. Appis reportedly told the couple that his son was in the hospital.
• HARASSMENT: Dennis M. Burkett, 48, 331 South St., Apt. 1, was arrested charged with second-degree harassment and coercion Thursday. Officers responded to South Street for a 911 hang-up. When officers arrived, a woman told them that after an argument with the suspect, Burkett slapped her in the face and kicked her in the shin. When she went to call 911, Burkett reportedly grabbed the phone from her and tossed the victim to the ground. The victim did not request an order of protection, according to the report.
