City of Lockport
• CRIMINAL CONTEMPT: Christopher K. Griffin, 42, 146 Pine St., Apt. 2, Lockport was charged Monday with second-degree criminal contempt. Griffin reportedly violated an order of protection stating that his girlfriend was not to be around his children.
• ASSAULT: Jeffrey M. Laubacker, 32 of 372 East Ave., was charged with second-degree menacing, third-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment and coercion. Officers responded to a report of a domestic incident between the suspect and victim. Police said the victim was punched and kicked several times throughout the day. The victim said Laubacker held a knife to her stomach and threatened to use it on her and then himself, according to the report. She was treated by the Lockport Fire Department for injuries.

• ASSAULT: A Newfane High School student reportedly set a girl’s hair on fire Friday at the school. A police report said only a few strands of hair were burned, and the victim suffered a small singe mark under her left eye. The suspect was suspended for five days by school officials, according to the report.
Clarence
• ENDANGERING: Julie R. Daiotto, 31 Old Beattie Road, Lockport, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. According to an Erie County Sheriff’s Office report, Daiotto left her two children, ages 2 and 6, in the car while shopping at Walmart on Transit Road. A store employee reportedly became concerned when he spotted the children alone in the vehicle and called police. Patrol responded to the call and found the children crying.
