City of Lockport
A routine traffic stop in the city Thursday ended in charges against two passengers.
Lockport police originally pulled a vehicle over after observing a traffic violation, according to the report.
The 25-year-old driver is facing two traffic violations.
During a search of the vehicle, police said they found that Kyonne D. Jones, 29, of 230 East Ave., a back-seat passenger, had an open container of alcohol. Jones allegedly refused to step out of the vehicle on request of police. He was charged with obstruction of government administration.
A second passenger, Chara S. Reed, 28, 572 Colvin Blvd., Buffalo, reportedly had several pills in an unmarked prescription bottle. Poison control confirmed that the pills were of a controlled substance, according to the report. Reed was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
