• CHARGED: Timothy J. Zastrow, 51, 243 Pine St. was charged with passing a red traffic signal, driving while intoxicated and a seatbelt violation. Zastrow was stopped on Pine Street at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday. Zastrow allegedly failed field sobriety tests.
• MENACING: Peter T. Harris, 49, 74 LaGrange St. was charged Monday with second-degree harassment and menacing. The patrol was dispatched to LaGrange Street, where the victim stated that Harris was intoxicated and was threatening to kill her and himself and had destroyed property, according to reports. Harris was arrested, and the victim asked for an order of protection, police said.

• FIRE: An Ide Road man reported that his basement carpet caught fire when he vacuumed a spot where he had been cleaning spilled paint with gasoline. Damage was contained to a small portion of the carpet, but there was heavy smoke damage to the two-story home, according to reports. Wilson fire officials said static electricity apparently caused the small fire.

• RECKLESS DRIVING: Alan E. Sahr, no address provided, faces a string of charges, the most serious of which is unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, after a traffic stop Wednesday at Hyde Park Boulevard and Route 31. Other charges include unlicensed driving, failure to keep right, failure to obey a traffic device, reckless driving, unsafe passing and speeding. The sheriff’s patrol attempted the traffic stop to question a motorist who was reportedly driving recklessly. The motorist, identified as Sahr, refused to stop and reached a high rate of speed with no headlights or taillights on, according to reports. Earlier, a woman had reported Sahr was following her vehicle and attempting to run her off the roadway while she had had her infant child and a friend in the car, according to reports.
