NEWFANE: Teen charged with assault
STALKING: Suspect reportedly tailgated, threatened victim.
An Appleton teen was charged Monday with assaulting another teen after reportedly following him through Newfane and Olcott.
James Michael Fritton, 17, 2947 Hess Road, was charged with third-degree assault and first-degree stalking.
A 17-year-old Meadowbrooke Lane man told deputies he noticed two cars tailgating him while he was driving with a neighbor along Hess Road.
One of the cars belonged to Fritton, with whom the victim said he has had ongoing problems, the report said.
The victim told deputies Fritton followed him onto Lake Road. Fritton allegedly called the victim and threatened him, saying, “I’m going to beat the (expletive) out of you,” and “Pull over and I’ll show you what I’m gonna do.”
The victim said he and his neighbor stopped at Krull Park in Olcott to pick up some scrap metal. Fritton allegedly pulled up behind him and approached him, along with the driver of the other car.
The victim and Fritton reportedly exchanged words, and Fritton allegedly told the victim he would “break the other side of your face.”
The two reportedly started fighting. Fritton allegedly grabbed the victim by the back of the head and slammed his face into the ground, causing facial injuries.
Several people showed up to support the victim in the fight, and Fritton reportedly left the scene.
Deputies met the victim at the Olcott Fire Hall. He reportedly suffered a bloody nose and mouth and broken teeth.
The victim was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Newfane, where he was treated and released, the report said.
Fritton was arrested on Lockport-Olcott Road and held in lieu of $500 bail.
