City of Lockport
• ASSAULT: Thomas E. Olson, 51, 77 Main St. Apt. 313, was charged with third-degree menacing and third-degree assault. A resident of Urban Towers reported Saturday that he was blocked from entering the building by a man who appeared intoxicated. The suspect struck the victim twice in the neck, according to the report. Olson was located at 77 Main St. on Monday and arrested.

• FORGERY: The owner of Best Deal Smoke on Upper Mountain Road man reported he received two bad money orders from a party he agreed to sell cigarettes to in the Chicago area. The victim stated he agreed to sell 20 cartons of Newport 100s valued at $1,580 to the suspect on two different occasions, but was notified by First Niagara Bank that the money orders were fraudulent. The owner was able to stop the shipment through the U.S Postal service, and the cartons were being returned to him.

• BURGLARY: A Dorwood Park resident reported the theft Saturday of a 60-inch high-definition television valued at $1,765 and a $300 TV. When the victim arrived home, she found the front door pried open, according to reports. She just moved into the lot two days earlier and the TV was delivered Saturday, the report said.

Registered sex offender accused of assaulting child
A registered sex offender living in the Town of Lockport has been accused of assault and endangering the welfare of a child, state police said Monday.

CITY OF LOCKPORT: Man sought after fleeing accident
Lockport Police said Monday they are looking for a man who fled the scene of a one-vehicle accident 3:15 a.m. Friday after losing control of the vehicle on Walnut Street, striking a utility pole and breaking it in half.
