Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Two men were arrested after accusing each other of mischief in a Minnick Road trailer park Wednesday morning.
Peter A. Wolcott, 35, 1778 Lockport-Olcott Road, Burt, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, after he was accused of damaging a headlight on a vehicle owned by Ray S. Brocklebank.
Brocklebank, 54, 6763 Minnick Road, lot 93, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. He's accused of swerving his vehicle toward Wolcott, who was walking on Chickadee Drive in the park around 9:20 a.m.
Brocklebank told a Niagara County Sheriff's deputy that Wolcott ran into the roadway in front of his moving vehicle, and kicked the vehicle as Brocklebank drove past him.
Wolcott told the deputy that he was walking on the side of the road and Brocklebank's vehicle swerved toward him. Wolcott said he tried to jump out of the way and the vehicle struck his right knee. The deputy wrote in his report that Wolcott did not appear to have suffered any injury, or even redness on his knee.
A witness told the deputy that Brocklebank's vehicle did appear to swerve toward a walking Wolcott, and that it looked like Wolcott used his foot to push off of the vehicle, the report said.
Wolcott was held at Niagara County Jail in lieu of $750 police bail on Wednesday. Brocklebank was held on $500 bail. Both were to be in Lockport town court today.
