Police blotter items published May 18, 2012

ASSAULT: Nicholas J. Reed, 21, 249 Genesee St., Apt. 1 was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration and third-degree attempted assault Wednesday. The police responded to Lewis Street for the report of an assault. According to the report, the victim was walking on Evans Street when he was confronted by two males who struck and kicked the victim. Reed grabbed a bottle of  wine and smashed in on the roadway. The victim fled and was able to identify Reed at a gas station. Reed fled from the police and was arrested on Washburn Street.

CHARGED: Richard J. Zawicki, 34, 7 South Main St. Elba was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation Thursday. According to report, Zawicki gave a fictitious name after the police responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle. Zawacki had warrants out of Monroe County.

BURGLARY: Samuel E. Neal, 24, 7405 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls was charged with petit larceny and second-degree burglary Thursday. According to the report, Neal took  $10 and 96 hydrocodone pills from a South Transit Street resident on April 22. The case was forwarded to detectives and Neal appeared in court on Thursday.

CHARGED: Tricia E. Cassenti, 24, 6493 Dysinger Road, Apt. 6 was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, second-degree criminal contempt and no inspection Thursday. The patrol was serving a warrant on West Avenue and observed Cassenti. Cassenti had a suspended driver's license and in contempt of court for driving without a license.
