WILSON: Baseball coaches' cases adjourned until Oct. 23
WILSON — Two baseball coaches in the Wilson School District charged with endangering the welfare of a child had their cases adjourned until 7 p.m. Oct. 23.
The charges followed an alleged hazing incident on a bus ride home from Niagara Falls in April.
The case originally was scheduled for Tuesday, but Niagara County assistant District Attorney Robert Zucco failed to show up at Wilson Town Court. Town Justice George R. Berger said he had not heard from the attorney.
Thomas Baia, 40, a middle school math teacher, and William Atlas, 35, an elementary school physical education teacher, each were charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The three Wilson students accused in the alleged hazing are facing reduced charges and are due Nov. 18 in Wilson Town Court.
