Lockport Union-Sun & Journal —
A city man will be back June 4 in Niagara County Court facing a charge of selling morphine.
David E. Laskey, Ashley Place, is facing two counts each of third-degree possession and sale of a controlled substance. He has been offered a plea deal, which would have him plead to felony fifth-degree sale of a controlled substance in exchange for waving his right to appeal.
A trial date is set for July 2 if Laskey does not agree to the deal. County Judge Sara S. Farkas said a Wade hearing, which is used to determine if a witness's identification of a defendant can be used as evidence, would have to be held before July.
Laskey allegedly sold morphine in Lockport last fall.
