Area churches will mark the Feast of St. Francis with blessing of the animals Sunday. The date was wrong in Monday’s paper.
In Lockport, blessings will take place at noon at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Saxton Street; at 1:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist on Chestnut Street; and at 2 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church courtyard at the corner of Genesee and Cottage streets.
St. Brendan on the Lake will have ceremonies at 2 p.m. in Newfane. The Rev. Joseph Badding will bless animals at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception in Ransomville.
