ORCHARD PARK —
People from throughout Niagara County can support two of their favorite hometown teams through a special promotion announced between the Buffalo Bills and United Way of Greater Niagara.
The Bills’ pre-season game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 7 p.m. Saturday is the team’s annual “Kids Day” and to celebrate the occasion, the Bills have teamed with the United Way to offer special $20 tickets through an on-line promotion, with $5 from each ticket going to support United Way of Greater Niagara.
“The people in Western New York are passionate about our local sports teams and passionate about supporting causes like United Way,” said Carol Houwaart-Diez, president of the United Way of Greater Niagara.
“We’re grateful to the Bills organization for making generous show of support for United Way and the thousands of people who benefit from United Way programs and services each year.”
The Kids Day game will feature a host of special activities, including give-aways, interactive games, face painting, appearances by Billy Buffalo and the Buffalo Jills, reduced concession pricing and a post-game fireworks display.
Kids Day activities begin at 3:30 p.m. The kick-off is at 7 p.m.
The Bills enter Saturday’s game with a preseason record of 0-2, following a home loss to the Washington Redskins on Aug. 9 and a 36-14 loss at Minnesota last Friday.
