WILSON —
Niagara County sheriff’s deputies are looking for two men who burglarized and robbed a Randall Road home early Friday morning, while allegedly kidnapping a teen in exchange for money and diamonds.
The sheriff’s office received a 911 call around 2:43 a.m. from a woman who reportedly told dispatch she and her husband were robbed by two armed men.
One homeowner told deputies he and his wife were sleeping in bed when they were awakened by two masked men who were holding a pistol and a stun gun.
The victim said that the two men then began yelling at them to “turn over onto your stomachs. Don’t look at us. Turn over, turn over.”
The victims did as they were told, and one suspect reportedly grabbed the male victim’s wrists and tied them with duct tape while yelling: “We have (your granddaughter) in the trunk of the car, so you better show us where the safe is. We want the money, where’s the safe?”
The elderly couple’s granddaughter lives with them, and Niagara Falls police later found the 19-year-old was safe at the home, according to a report. There was no information available as to whether the teen was taken off the premises by the men.
The couple said they could not physically identify the suspects, but said one suspect called the other “Jason.”
A report said upon several deputies arriving to the scene, they saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Townline Road where the suspects fled, leaving the abandoned vehicle near Brent and Hoover roads in Wheatfield.
Ground deputies, and the K9 and air units searched the area but didn’t locate the suspects.
Items reported stolen included $4,350 in cash and diamonds from the victims’ safe.
If located, the suspects would face the charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary and harassment, and third-degree grand larceny.
No other information was available. The kidnapping is under investigation.
