THE GIVING SPIRIT: Volunteers plan 18th annual free Thanksgiving dinner

Volunteers met recently to discuss the 18th annual free Thanksgiving dinner, to be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 50 Cottage St. Donations of turkeys and desserts, especially pies, are still needed, and can be dropped off at the Salvation Army weekdays during business hours. People are welcome to eat at the Salvation Army dining room, or dinners can be delivered to those who can’t get out or are simply alone for the holiday and don’t want to cook a meal.
