BILL WOLCOTT/STAFF FOREVER LINKED: Ten years ago today a gunman opened fire on Lockport police officers Detective Captain Lawrence Eggert and K-9 officer Steven Ritchie. A third officer, Detective Lieutenant Scott Seekins, fired back, striking the gunman -- who later took his own life -- in the foot. Seekins, credited with saving the lives of his fellow officers, is flanked by Ritchie, left and Eggert, now Chief of Police, right.
